Do You Hear Me

Do you hear me

I am calling out from across the ages.

Do you hear me

The cry is mournful and filled with longing.

Do you hear me

My throat is raw and the anguished cry continues.

Do you hear me

My body is one spasmodic convulsion in the attempt to be heard.

Do you hear me

Driven by pain, the uncertainty I am alone.

Do you hear me

There are shadows all around.

Do you hear me

I am past, I am present, I am future.

Do you hear me

I will not give in, I will stand, I will hold my head high.

Do you hear me
